One grounded fact base. Several paths forward.

The altitude80 Workbench is the shared knowledge environment. Discovery 1.0 is its licensable, read-only first module. It creates the evidence-backed business model used for business understanding, data impact and governed AI context.

Three Workbench capabilities connected to a shared knowledge repository
Understand

Modernization Workbench

Recover the business model encoded in applications, validate it and carry it into delivery.

Understand impact

Data Impact Analyzer

Trace variable behavior, test meaningful conditions and verify outcomes across programs.

AI Agent Library

Give agents governed, contextual business knowledge instead of raw code.

How the products fit

Discovery creates the fact base. The Workbench keeps it useful.

Discovery 1.0 recovers what exists without changing the source. The Knowledge Repository keeps the evidence and business meaning connected. Data Impact Analyzer and the AI Agent Library extend how that knowledge is examined and used.

Modernization Workbench

Recover the business model encoded in the application.

Discovery 1.0 goes beyond an architecture inventory or logic dump. It separates business meaning from technical execution without changing the source, returning four assets to the business: the processes the organization actually performs, the rules encoded in its software, the terminology behind cryptic field names, and the data those rules act on. The broader Workbench keeps that knowledge in a shared repository where people can validate the business model and, in later modules, manage additions, modifications, retirements and deletions.

Business rule and source

Technical execution and business meaning together

People can review the meaning beside the source that supports it.

Data Impact Analyzer

See what changes before you make the change.

Data Impact Analyzer is an optional Workbench extension for examining variable behavior, testing meaningful conditions and verifying outcomes across programs.

The Workbench establishes the business meaning. DIA extends that grounded model into variable behavior and change impact.

Trace the field

See where a value is set, modified and passed through the application.

Verify the outcome

Supply a meaningful condition and compare expected behavior with the calculated result.

Explain what happened

Investigate unexpected values with the calculation path and source context attached.

Built for shared decisions

One artifact. Shared across the table.

CEO and Board

Opaque systems become an understood, measurable business asset.

CFO

Auditable visibility into how revenue, cost and risk decisions are made.

CIO

Transparency into how the application portfolio supports the business, expressed in business terms.

COO

A clear view of how operations actually run, and where they are constrained.

Risk and Compliance

Rules and decisions traceable from source to outcome.

Business and Product

See what your software does for the business, without a translator.

Proven across the environments the business depends on: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS and CICS, with tailored support for Assembler, PL/I, Java, C++ and modern stacks. The platform is incidental. The business it represents is what we recover.

Client proof · Insurance

A data question that had resisted months of work became a traceable analysis.

The client needed to follow critical variables across a large application estate, understand the calculations that changed them and expose anomalies before making a change.

“I've been working on solving this issue for more than three months, and I haven't been able to make progress. I'm very impressed with what's been delivered.”

estimated manual analysis per variable compared with the delivered workflow

The figures demonstrate delivery at scale. The business value was making a previously stalled analysis usable and repeatable.
AI Agent Library

Agents need business context, not a code dump.

The Knowledge Repository gives agents governed business context: explicit rules, vocabulary, processes and relationships with traceable provenance, rather than raw code or a technical map alone.
